Westminster Oaks Mardi Gras Party and Paper Crafting Class

What a fun day! It was our Mardi Gras party with the Westminser Oaks Retirement Community Ladies and paper crafting class.

We had the King Cake that I made yesterday, along with some Mardi Gras Punch.  You can't have Mardi Gras with out beads!!! But there was no "flashing" for these beads.

It was a small class of 4 ladies today, but we had a lot of fun.

What is Mardi Gras with out a mask? That is the project that was did today. It was a hard task for them but they made it through their creations.

I dug out some of my retired Stampin' Up! items for this project.

Here are Louise, Margaret, Pheobie, and Pat after they finished their mask. I did a great job!

They are now ready for the Mardi Gras Party that Westminster Oaks will have for them on Fat Tuesday.

Prep day for Mardi Gras Paper Crafting Class at Westminster Oaks

What a fun day today. My husband was such a trooper this morning going shopping we me for the finishing items to get ready from my paper crafting class tomorrow at Westminster Oaks Retirement Community in Tallahassee, Florida. 

I know it is a little early but the theme of tomorrow class is Mardi Gras.  On Fat Tuesday, Westminster Oaks staff is having a Mardi Gras party for the residents.  Since my class is held on the first Sunday of the month, I thought I would help the ladies get ready for their party.  You will have to come back tomorrow to see what we created.

This month is a year since my first class at Westminster Oaks, so I wanted to have a little party to say "Thank You" to the ladies for attending my card making and paper crafting classes this past year.  I will share this today, I baked my first King Cake, and yes there is a baby king inside. I think it came out pretty good.  Let's just hope it taste good tomorrow.  We will have some Mardi Gras punch to go long with our King Cake. I will share a picture of it tomorrow too.

February JSC Stamping and Paper Crafting Events and Stamp to the Max Blog Hop

Well here is another fun sample for you that was on display at Leadership earlier this month. Let me ask you a question...

Have you ever gone to a dinner party or tailgate party at someones house and forgotten to grab some silverware or dropped it while trying to juggle holding on to it, your plate and maybe a drink?

Wouldn't this be a great way to show off your creative talent at your next dinner party? You know all your friends would be wowed. Everything is right there, and you could even tuck a napking in too. How easy would this be to hold on to under your plate or you could easily tuck it in a pocket.

Can you think of other gatherings that it would be fun for you to create a silverware holder like this?...I can, baby shower, birthday parties, graduation parties, that is just to name a few. I bet you could keep this list going.

Diva Inspiration Challenge 165 and Stampin' Up! Leadership 2013

 

 

Did you know that we celebrate Winnie the Pooh day?  Yes we do, and it is tomorrow, but this is our Inspiration Challenge photo for this week. 

This photo reminds me of all the fun we were having at the Stampin' Up! Leadership last weekend. I don't know if you know this, but Stampin' Up! is celebrating 25th Anniversary this year.  There were demonstrations and samples of several sets from the new Spring Catalog and we actually received a set for attending Leadership. I will fill you in later on more Leadership information.

Here is the card I created for this week's Inspiration Challenge.  I keeped this card simple...getting back to the basics.
